Google Search Console now supports selecting multiple devices in performance filters, a small change with practical value for publishers.

A small interface change with useful consequences

Google Search Console now documents the ability to select multiple devices or countries together in the Performance report. Previously, filtering by one device at a time made some comparisons cumbersome. The feature was reported on 5 November 2026 and is now reflected in Google’s help documentation.

What publishers can do

A site owner can select mobile and tablet traffic together, for example, to investigate how smaller-screen visitors find a website. Combined country filtering can also help publishers analyse several markets without treating each separately. The tool changes how data is viewed; it does not create extra traffic or alter Google’s ranking system.

A practical workflow

Open Search Console’s Search results Performance report. Set a consistent date range, add a device filter and select the device types relevant to your question. Review clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position together. Then inspect the pages and queries contributing to any change. Compare equivalent periods to avoid mistaking seasonality for a technical issue.

Avoid this common mistake

A decline in mobile clicks does not automatically mean a mobile usability problem. Search demand, rankings, indexing and content changes can all affect the figures. Use the filter to narrow your investigation, then check page experience and indexing evidence separately.

TheTechBoom take

For smaller Australian publishers, better filtering means less spreadsheet work and more time identifying which content actually attracts readers.
